More Than A Job!

Working in the early childhood education field can be fufilling and enriching in many ways.  It is often important to stop and reflect on the significant things we do and accomplish in life.  What I find to be rather unique and somewhat amazing is that when you strip down to its core the role of the teacher, educator, teacher’s aid, or whatever title one chooses to employ, the job is probably one of the most influencial occupations in our society.  The teach is most often our most selfless people and are tasked to learn a great many things and impart that knowledge to young children.  That in itself is noteworthy, but when one digs deeper and reflects on the sheer importance and impact this activity has on our evolving society, it becomes a rather deep topic.  Children are our future.  That statement is much more than a catch phrase, but indeed is wrapped around a truth.  How are children learn and what they learn influences the direction our society moves.  At the individual level, a child’s early development is directly correlated to their future well being.  So yes indeed, working in this field is much, much more than a job.  And the level of compensation one can receive for their efforts are not entirely measured by dollars.  Few people can claim to have as much influence on so many people as do our eductors of young children.
